Fallen Forklift Causes Mesa Auto Accident on Loop 202 near Elliot Road

MESA, AZ (September 8, 2026) – Monday morning, an alarming forklift crash on Loop 202 near Elliot Road led to minor injuries.

The incident happened at about 6:00 a.m. on southbound Loop 202 near Elliot Road.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a pickup truck was towing a trailer carrying a forklift when the driver lost control. The forklift fell from the trailer onto the freeway, where it was struck by a second vehicle.

The crash resulted in minor injuries.

Two right lanes were blocked while crews cleared the scene. The lanes have since reopened.
