Glendale Auto Accident on 49th Avenue and Peoria Avenue

GLENDALE, AZ (November 18, 2025) – Monday night, an alarming rollover crash on 49th Avenue and Peoria Avenue led to injuries.

The incident happened at about 7:00 p.m. on 49th Avenue and Peoria Avenue.

Dustin Moscato, who witnessed the crash, said a driver hit an electrical pole, flipped the car, and the vehicle exploded. Videos from the scene show flames shooting from the overturned car.

He said the crash happened about 50 yards from him and that he heard a loud bang when the pole and wires came down.

Glendale Police said an initial collision with another vehicle caused the rollover and the downed power lines. People in both cars were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK.

At the height of the outage, about 1,800 SRP customers lost power. By 9:50 p.m., that number had been reduced to 35.

According to police, speed and impairment do not appear to be factors.
