Injuries Reported in Frightening Vehicle Crash on Anza Road [Calexico, CA]

Calexico, CA (February 9, 2026) — On Thursday evening, a frightening crash on Anza Road, where a pickup truck went into the All-American Canal near Calexico, prompted a response from multiple emergency agencies.

According to authorities, the crash occurred around 8:18 p.m. on Anza Road near Hammers Road, just west of the city.

The vehicle entered the canal and became fully submerged in the deep, fast-moving water. Both occupants managed to get out of the sinking truck on their own and sustained only minor injuries.

Authorities planned for the Imperial County Sheriff’s Department Dive Team to recover the submerged vehicle the following morning. Investigators continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
