CHICO, CA (April 23, 2025) – Friday night, a crippling bicycle crash on Chablis Drive and Sauteme Place led to major injuries.

The incident involving a vehicle and a bicycle occurred at around 6:16 p.m. on Chablis Drive and Sauteme Place.

A 6-year-old boy riding a bicycle was seriously injured after being hit by a 2006 Toyota pickup truck on Chablis Drive, according to the CHP.

The child was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center with major injuries. Officers said the boy rode into the direct path of the westbound truck.

CHP does not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
