Aurora, CO (October 23, 2025) — Two Aurora police officers were injured two Aurora traffic crashes involving suspected drunk drivers over the weekend.

The first crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. Saturday along the shoulder of Airport Boulevard.

An unmarked patrol car had just completed a traffic stop when another vehicle struck it from behind. Officers discovered several empty alcohol containers inside the suspect’s car, and the driver was arrested for DUI.

Then on Sunday at around 12:30 a.m., another suspected impaired driver rear-ended a patrol vehicle as officers turned onto East Mississippi Avenue from South Chambers Road.

All involved officers sustained minor injuries, including whiplash, and were treated at nearby hospitals. Both collisions remain under investigation.
