Injuries Reported in Big Rig Crash on SR 98 [Calexico, CA]

Calexico, CA (April 22, 2025) – Minor injuries have been reported in a big rig crash on SR 98 Monday afternoon.

It was around 1:30 p.m. when the collision between a big rig and a small car happened on Menvielle Road, near the East Port of Entry.

Officers said the fuel tank of the big rig spilled an estimated 35 gallons of fuel. 

The freeway’s eastbound lane was blocked for almost 4 hours while Caltrans and a HazMat crew worked to contain the spill. 

Officers are conducting a further investigation into the accident.
