Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Interbay After Being Hit by Car on 15th Avenue West
Seattle, WA (December 4, 2025) — A pedestrian was hurt and hospitalized Monday evening after a frightening crash on 15th Avenue West.
According to Seattle police the pedestrian accident happened around 8:30 p.m. in the Interbay neighborhood.
Officers responded to reports of a collision on 15th Avenue West near West Emerson Street. They arrived to find a man in his 20s or 30s on the ground after being struck by a 56-year-old driver.
Medics treated the pedestrian at the scene before taking him to Harborview Medical Center with potentially life-threatening injuries. Police say the driver of the Chevrolet Bolt cooperated with investigators and showed no signs of impairment. He was released from the scene.
Stop Pedestrian Accidents
To help avoid pedestrian accidents, drivers and pedestrians alike should be increasingly vigilant and watch out for each other. Drivers have to make sure to slow down in crowded areas, watch for people crossing and not get distracted, like by texting.
Pedestrians should cross only where they are supposed to, heed the traffic lights and attempt to establish eye contact with drivers before they step off the curb. If you’re walking at night, wear something bright or reflective so you’re easier to see. Do not walk and use a phone, or wear headphones, on the road.
Please stay alert when driving through busy corridors and watch for pedestrians at all hours. A moment of caution can prevent serious injuries and save lives.
