Injuries Reported in Deadly Crash on SH 146 [Texas City, TX]

Texas City, TX (March 19, 2026) — 3 people were hurt, and a man died Tuesday afternoon after a police pursuit ended in a deadly Crash on SH 146.

The incident unfolded around 2:50 p.m. near State Highway 146 and FM 646 in Galveston County. Authorities said the driver, identified as a suspect in a police chase, lost control and crashed into a truck with a long trailer. The impact proved fatal, and responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Reports say that the crash also left three other individuals hurt. Emergency crews transported two victims to HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake and another to UTMB Galveston for treatment. Officials have not released updates on their conditions.
