Rainbow Auto Accident on Interstate 15 near Rainbow Valley Road

RAINBOW, CA (August 3, 2026) – Saturday, a startling rollover crash on Interstate 15 near Rainbow Valley Road led to injuries.

The incident happened at 7:46 p.m. on Interstate 15 near Rainbow Valley Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the rollover crash involving a white Infiniti and a Nissan left two people with life-threatening injuries.

One victim was airlifted by Mercy Air to a trauma center, while another was transported by ground ambulance with life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told dispatchers the vehicle rolled over multiple times on the northbound side before crossing the center divider into the southbound lanes. One witness reported the Infiniti struck the center divider before entering opposing traffic.

The crash forced the closure of all southbound lanes of Interstate 15. CHP issued a SigAlert as emergency crews responded, and a medical helicopter landed on the freeway to transport an injured victim. Tow trucks were dispatched, and a traffic break was conducted on the northbound side to clear debris from the roadway.

Meanwhile, the SigAlert remained in effect until late Saturday night, with all southbound lanes reopening early Sunday morning.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities have not released additional information about the victims’ conditions.
