Injuries Sustained in Shingletown Auto Accident on Highway 44

SHINGLETOWN, CA (June 21, 2026) – Friday night, a startling 2-vehicle crash on Highway 44 led to multiple injuries.

The incident happened when a sedan traveled eastbound on Highway 44.

According to authorities, the male driver of a sedan told officers he was tired and drifted across the double-yellow line into oncoming traffic.

A driver of an SUV traveling westbound on Highway 44 swerved to avoid the oncoming sedan, but the two vehicles still sideswiped each other at speed.

The California Highway Patrol said both vehicles then ran off the roadway after the collision.

A passenger in the sedan suffered a broken leg and was transported to a hospital for treatment. The drivers of both vehicles sustained minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
