Injury Reported in Deadly Multi-Car Crash on I-45 [Houston, TX]

Houston, TX (May 29, 2025) – A horrific multi-car crash on I-45 left a woman dead and another hurt early Thursday morning.

According to authorities, the high-speed crash happened around 3:10 a.m. on Interstate 45 North.

Reports say that the collision involved five vehicles, the crash killed a 31-year-old woman.

Authorities say that the woman lost control of her gray Mazda 3, hit a barrier, and rolled several times. The impact ejected her from the vehicle, and she died at the scene.

A blue Lexus RX350 then struck the Mazda. As its driver stood on the freeway, a white Ford Fusion attempted to avoid the scene but struck the Lexus driver, who sustained injuries and was hospitalized in stable condition. A white Honda Civic also hit the Mazda and was then struck by a fifth vehicle.

Authorities shut down all northbound lanes of I-45 North after North Main Street during the investigation. The cause of the crash remains under review.
