19-Year-Old Isiah Martinez Arrested After Fatal Crash on Cook Road [Houston, TX]

Houston, TX (June 12, 2025) Houston police arrested 19-year-old Isiah Martinez for his role in a fatal crash on Cook Road that killed an 11-month-old baby on Wednesday evening.

According to authorities, Martinez was reportedly speeding and driving under the influence when he crashed into another vehicle at Cook Road and Corona around 6:35 p.m.

The impact ejected the infant from the vehicle, resulting in the child’s death at the scene.

Investigators believe the car seat may have been improperly installed.

Authorities say that the baby’s 27-year-old mother sustained minor injuries. Authorities said Martinez and his passenger fled the scene but later returned. He now faces charges of DWI and failure to stop and render aid.
