Jacob Donze Hurt in Frightening Auto-Bicycle Crash on Perrine Road [Farmington, MO]

Farmington, MO (June 18, 2025) — Jacob Donze, a Farmington bicyclist, suffered injuries after a horrific crash on Perrine Road, where a vehicle struck him on June 12.

According to local police, officers and emergency responders arrived at the intersection of Perrine Road and Air Park Drive around 6:42 a.m. following a crash involving a bicycle and a passenger vehicle.

Investigators reported that Donze, a North St. Francois County High School baseball coach, was riding his bicycle westbound on Perrine Road when the collision happened. Police said Dustin Austell was driving a 2025 Chevrolet eastbound and attempted to turn left onto Air Park Drive.

Authorities determined that Austell failed to yield to the oncoming bicyclist, causing the Chevrolet to collide with Donze’s bicycle. The impact threw Donze from the bike and left him injured.

Paramedics transported Donze to Mercy Hospital South for treatment. The crash remains under investigation.
