28-Year-Old Jacob Perry Jailed in Ashlan Avenue DUI Crash [Fresno, CA]

Fresno, CA (February 23, 2025) – Jacob Perry, a 28-year-old Merced man, is facing charges following an Ashlan Avenue DUI crash early Sunday morning.

It was approximately 1:30 a.m. when the 3-vehicle crash happened in Fresno.

According to CHP, one of its patrol units had just ended a traffic stop near the Ashlan Avenue onramp of Highway 41’s northbound lanes when it was rear-ended by a Honda Accord driven by Perry.

Officers said the patrol vehicle still had its overhead lights activated while traveling behind the Chevrolet Equinox.

The impact of the Accord pushed the CHP cruiser into the Equinox.  

As a result, the Equinox veered onto the right shoulder while the CHP’s patrol unit and the Accord went across all lanes and rested on the opposite side of the freeway after crashing into the center divider.

Jacob Perry was not hurt in the collision, however, his 26-year-old female passenger incurred major injuries.  

Both CHP officers that were in the patrol unit sustained moderate injuries and the Equinox driver has incurred minor injuries.  They were all taken to an area hospital.

Later on, the authorities arrested Jacob Perry and booked him into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI.
