McAllen, TX (November 30, 2025) — On Saturday, 25-year-old Jacob Rodriguez of Edinburg was killed while 6 others were hurt after a rollover crash on Bicentennial Boulevard.

According to authorities, the fatal crash happened around 2:08 a.m. on the 1600 block of North Bicentennial Boulevard.

Reports say that the rollover crash left one young man dead and six others injured, and police say alcohol played a role.

McAllen officers responded to the scene and found a Ford Bronco overturned. Witnesses told investigators the SUV struck a stone structure off the roadway and flipped.

All seven occupants, ages 18 to 25, were taken to a hospital with various injuries. One passenger, Rodriguez later died from the crash.

Police arrested the driver, 18-year-old Gabriela Nunez Garcia of McAllen, on suspicion of driving under the influence. She now faces an intoxication manslaughter charge along with additional felonies.
