Jacob Szkodzinski Arrested in Fairground Road Deadly DUI Crash [Monterey, CA]

Monterey, CA (February 1, 2025) – Jacob Szkodzinski, 24, of Monterey, was arrested following a deadly DUI crash on Fairground Road late Saturday afternoon.

It was around 5:06 p.m. when the fatal two-vehicle crash happened west of Casa Verde Way.

Officers said the owner of a gray Honda CR-V was walking to his vehicle parked north side of the road. 

At the same time, a white Jaguar F-Pace driven by Jacob Szkodzinski was traveling the wrong way and struck the parked Honda head-on and pushed it into its owner entering the vehicle.

The rescuers rushed the Honda driver to Natividad Medical Center and died of his injuries several days later.

The authorities arrested and booked Jacob Szkodzinski for driving under the influence which resulted in another man’s death.
