Jaden Stevens of Spokane Injured in US 395 Fatal Collision [Stevens County, WA]

Stevens County, WA (Aug. 11, 2023) – On Thursday, 26-year-old Jaden Stevens of Spokane was injured following a US 395 fatal collision.

The fatal collision took place at around 12:35 a.m. about a mile north of Loon Lake.

27-year-old Tyler Philp of Kettle Falls was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry southbound on the freeway’s northbound lane when he struck a 1994 GMC Sierra driven by Jaden Stevens head-on.

Philp succumbed to his crash injuries at the scene while Jaden Stevens was airlifted to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. Stevens’ passenger was injured but declined treatment.

Officers said Philp was wearing a seat belt during the collision and Stevens was not. 

Deputies said reckless driving caused the accident, but it has not been identified yet if drugs or alcohol were involved.
