Ja’Marion Grace Killed, 2 Hurt in Tragic Crash on Highway 101 [San Jose, CA]

San Jose, CA (September 23, 2026) — Ja’Marion Grace, a 19-year-old College of San Mateo football player from Fairfield, died after a solo-vehicle crash early Sunday on Highway 101 in San Jose.

The crash happened around 2:06 a.m. near the Yerba Buena Road exit. The California Highway Patrol said the driver of a 2013 Ford Fusion lost control while traveling northbound. Grace was ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries.

Two of Grace’s teammates also suffered injuries. One remained hospitalized in serious condition, while the other recovered at home. Grace was a freshman defensive back for the College of San Mateo football team.
