Taylor Police Arrest Suspect After Fatal Pedestrian Crash at Medical Center
Taylor, TX (July 25, 2026) — Taylor police arrested Jesse Jackson after James Killough was fatally struck by a vehicle Friday morning in the parking lot of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center.
Authorities said the crash happened around 10:15 a.m. at the medical center on Mallard Lane. The victim, James Killough, 81, of Taylor, suffered critical injuries and died at the scene despite lifesaving efforts by hospital staff.
Investigators determined that the driver, Jesse Jackson, 43, of Spring, left the scene after the collision. Officers later located him in the 2700 block of North Drive.
Following their investigation and consultation with the Williamson County District Attorney’s Office, police arrested Jackson on a first-degree murder charge.
The investigation involved two locations, including the medical center and a section of North Drive between Mallard Lane and Marshall Street. Authorities later reopened North Drive after clearing the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
