James and Patricia Wheeler Hurt in Deadly Crash on Highway 2 [Stevens Pass, WA]

Stevens Pass, WA (July 29, 2025) On Sunday afternoon, a deadly crash on U.S. Highway 2 left Donald R. Anderson dead and James and Patricia Wheeler injured.

According to authorities, the crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. when 68-year-old Donald R. Anderson of Leavenworth tried to make an illegal U-turn on his motorcycle. A motorhome driven by 75-year-old James L. Wheeler of Arlington, traveling behind Anderson, struck the motorcycle.

Anderson died at the scene. Emergency crews transported Wheeler and his passenger, 76-year-old Patricia A. Wheeler, also of Arlington, to Cascade Medical Center in Leavenworth for treatment of their injuries.

The crash shut down the eastbound lanes for several hours as Washington State Patrol troopers conducted their investigation and crews removed debris. Authorities have not yet determined if impairment was a factor.
