Javier Pacheco Arrested in Santa Ursula Avenue Wrong-Way Crash [Laredo, TX]

Laredo, TX (May 26, 2025) – Laredo police arrested 29-year-old Javier Pacheco early Monday, after a wrong-way crash on Santa Ursula Avenue that left a woman hurt.

According to authorities, the horrific incident happened around 1:40 a.m. on Santa Ursula Avenue.

Reports say that Pacheco led officers on a brief chase that ended in a crash. The incident began when an officer stopped a vehicle on San Bernardo Avenue.

As officers engaged with Pacheco, he suddenly sped away, driving the wrong way on Santa Ursula Avenue before colliding with another vehicle.

Officers rescued the female driver of the other car and transported her to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities arrested Pacheco at the scene and charged him with felony evading arrest with a vehicle, Class B misdemeanor reckless driving, and Class A misdemeanor resisting arrest.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no other injuries were reported.
