Jeanne Avalos Dies in Junction Highway Pedestrian Crash

Pedestrian Killed While Crossing Junction Highway in Kerrville

Kerrville, TX (September 7, 2026) — 46-year-old Jeanne Avalos died Saturday night after a vehicle struck her while she crossed Junction Highway in Kerrville.

Kerrville police responded around 9:28 p.m. on Sept. 5 to the crash in the 1200 block of Junction Highway. Authorities identified the pedestrian as Avalos.

Investigators determined that Avalos was crossing the highway when an eastbound vehicle hit her. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. Officers found no signs of impairment and do not currently expect to file charges against the driver.

Bystanders assisted Avalos before paramedics transported her to Peterson Regional Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries. Police notified her family.

The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
