Jeffery Alvarez Arrested in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Interstate 25 [Denver, CO]

1 Person Dead in Denver Auto Accident on Interstate 25 and Speer Boulevard

DENVER, CO (August 5, 2025) – Saturday morning, authorities arrested Jeffery Alvarez after a fatal hit-and-run crash on Interstate 25.

The incident happened at around 12:30 a.m. on Interstate 25 at Speer Boulevard.

According to reports, a northbound Jeep Grand Cherokee made an abrupt lane change and collided with another vehicle. Then, the force of the crash ejected a passenger of the Jeep into the roadway. Also, the driver of the vehicle, identified as 29-year-old Alvarez, and another passenger of the jeep fled the scene after the crash.

Moreover, responders pronounced the ejected passenger of the Jeep dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the driver of the second vehicle to a hospital with serious injuries.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that Alvarez later surrendered at a police station and was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident involving death.

Meanwhile, the crash closed northbound Interstate 25 but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
