Jeffrey Lynn Nevarez Jr Killed in Head-on Crash on Highway 84 [Coryell County, TX]

Coryell County, TX (August 5, 2025) – Authorities identified 21-year-old Jeffrey Lynn Nevarez Jr. of Waco as the victim in a fatal head-on crash on Highway 84.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal incident happened Thursday night around 9:39 p.m. on U.S. Highway 84, roughly five miles from Gatesville.

Reports say that Nevarez was driving a 2021 Kia Stinger eastbound when, for reasons still under investigation, his vehicle veered into the westbound lane. The Kia collided head-on with a 2024 Dodge Ram truck that was towing a livestock trailer.

Emergency responders arrived quickly, but tragically, Nevarez was pronounced dead at the scene.
