Salinas, CA (November 5, 2025) — 50-year-old Jennifer Lynn Chatman of Salinas, was riding her bicycle when she was fatally struck by a semitruck Monday evening on Sanborn Road.

According to Salinas police , the fatal incident happened around 7 p.m. at the intersection of South Sanborn Road and Work Street.

Reports say that the truck made a wide right turn, and its trailer hit the bicyclist. Emergency crews rushed her to a nearby hospital, but she later died from her injuries.

Authorities say that the truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police confirmed that drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash.
