Jenny Ritter Injured in SR 41 Deadly Crash

Female Passenger Loses Life in Atascadero Solo-Vehicle Collision

Atascadero, CA (September 10, 2026) – 42-year-old Jenny Ritter of Ceres was injured, and her passenger was killed in a SR 41 vehicle collision Tuesday night.

The fatal crash happened past 10 p.m. on September 8, south of Rocky Canyon Road.

Police stated Ritter was driving a black 2003 Mercedes ML500, southbound on the freeway at an unknown speed.

The Mercedes then left the southbound lane, drove across the roadway, down a dirt and grass embankment where it struck a concrete drainage wall.

Rescuers freed Ritter and her passenger, a 42-year-old woman, from the vehicle, and rushed them to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center.

Unfortunately, the passenger succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

Police withheld the identity of the deceased pending notification of kin.

Moreover, troopers do not suspect alcohol and drugs as factors in the deadly crash.
