Oxnard, CA (May 12, 2025) — Authorities identified 50-year-old Jesus Gomez Soriano as the pedestrian who died after a vehicle struck him while crossing a street near Five Points in Oxnard on May 2.

The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 50-year-old Jesus Gomez Soriano of Oxnard. Officials said he died from multiple blunt force injuries and ruled the death an accident.

According to investigators, the crash happened around 11:30 p.m. on Wooley Road west of Commercial Avenue. Police said Soriano was crossing the roadway outside a marked crosswalk when a Ford Expedition struck him.

The 21-year-old driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Investigators said they do not suspect alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
