Jesus Mejia and Mario Govea Jr Dies in SH 158 Fatal Solo-Car Crash [Midland County, TX]

Midland County, TX (February 13, 2024) On Sunday morning, 28-year-old Jesus Mejia Trejo and 21-year-old Mario Govea Jr were killed after a rollover crash on SH 158.

According to the Texas DPS, the fatal crash happened at about 4:40 a.m. on eastbound Highway 158.

Reports say that a truck with 5 occupants, driven by 36-year-old Braulio Caldarella Lerma at an unsafe speed for the wet road conditions veered off the road and rolled over multiple times.

The impact of the crash ejected all 5 occupants of the vehicle. Officials say that Trejo died at the scene, while Lerma and the other 3 passengers were rushed to the hospital.

Officials say that Govea Jr later succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at the hospital.

Meanwhile, Lerma sustained serious injuries, while the 2 other passengers suffered minor injuries.

Authorities are investigating the fatal collision and have not provided additional information at this time.
