Pedestrian Jill Lanto Dead in Mission Boulevard Accident

Fatality Reported in Hayward Traffic Accident

Hayward, CA (February 20, 2026) – Jill Lanto, 59, of Hayward, was killed in a Mission Boulevard accident Tuesday night.

The deadly collision happened at 9:20 p.m. at the 23000 area.

Troopers said was in a crosswalk when she was struck by an Acura SUV traveling north.

Immediately, Lanto was taken to an area hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The 27-year-old woman, who was driving the SUV, stopped at the scene and was cooperative during the investigation.
