Hot-and-Run Collision on Gravois Avenue Injures Motorcyclist
St. Louis, MO (September 30, 2026) — On Saturday night, Jimmy Nguyen suffered injuries after a hit-and-run driver sideswiped his motorcycle on Gravois Avenue at Gannett Avenue in St. Louis.
The collision caused Nguyen to lose control of his motorcycle and roll several times. He suffered scrapes and road rash, while his helmet helped protect him from more serious injuries.
People from a nearby bar rushed to Nguyen’s aid after the crash. The driver responsible for the collision left the scene, and authorities had not reported an arrest or identified a suspect at the time of the report.
Hit-and-Run is a Crime
A hit-and-run is a deadly offense that endangers lives and robs victims of their right to assistance. If you’re in an accident, do not leave the scene and check for injuries; 911 should be called immediately. Leaving can lead to criminal charges, even if the crash appears to be minor. As a driver, own it — someone’s life could hang in the balance.
If you observe a hit-and-run, report it and give any information you can. Assistance to law enforcement can really make a difference. Each of us can do our part to drive responsibly and with integrity, and to get everyone the help they need after a crash.
Motorcycle crashes can cause serious injuries even at lower speeds. Drivers should stay alert, check their blind spots, and give motorcyclists plenty of space. Always wear a properly fitted helmet when riding.
