Jimmy Salgado Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Watt Avenue [Sacramento, CA]

Sacramento, CA (January 22, 2026) — 38-year-old Jimmy Salgado of Sacramento died from injuries sustained in a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Watt Avenue and Auburn Boulevard.

According to authorities, the collision happened on January 15 when a vehicle traveling from eastbound Auburn Boulevard to southbound Watt Avenue crossed a raised median. That vehicle struck a second car waiting in the left-turn lane on northbound Watt Avenue before continuing into a third vehicle traveling north.

Reports say that Salgado, who occupied the second vehicle along with a passenger, suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. He died the following day. His passenger was also hospitalized with major injuries. Authorities reported no injuries to the occupants of the third vehicle.

Investigators said the driver who crossed the median was not suspected of impairment. The crash remains under investigation.
