Inyokern, CA (January 31, 2026) — On Wednesday evening, 23-year-old Joaquin Angel Aguirre of Los Angeles tragically lost his life after a wrong-way collision on Highway 14.

According to the Kern County Coroner’s Office and the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 10:15 p.m. north of Cow Heaven Road.

Reports say that Aguirre drove a 2007 Toyota Corolla and his vehicle collided head-on with a southbound 2014 Freightliner semi-trailer truck.
