51-Year-Old John Carrizales Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 35 [Austin, TX]

Austin, TX (April 29, 2025) – 51-year-old John Carrizales lost his life in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 35 Saturday morning.

The fatal collision happened around 10:44 a.m. at the annual Ride for the Fallen near the Slaughter Creek Overpass in South Austin.

Troopers said another motorcyclist was involved in this collision.

Austin-Travis County EMS medics immediately responded to the scene and conducted CPR on Carrizales but were unable to save his life.

The other motorcyclist involved in the collision did not sustain injuries and cooperated with the investigation.

Moreover, the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT) said Carrizales was participating in the annual Ride for the Fallen.

APD is investigating the collision and asks anyone with information to contact police at 512-974-8111.
