Ridgecrest, CA (June 05, 2025) – 85-year-old John Gardner Turner Jr. of Ridgecrest was killed in a 2-vehicle crash on Highway 178.

According to authorities, the fatal collision happened at the intersection of Highway 178 and North Calvert Boulevard at about 8:20 p.m.

Reports say that the 85-year-old Ridgecrest man died Wednesday night after a two-vehicle collision.

Authorities identified the victim as Turner Jr. Emergency responders transported him to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital, where he died approximately an hour after the crash.

The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident.
