62-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck on I-10 On-Ramp in Indio

Indio, CA (September 29, 2025) — on Saturday, 62-year-old John Keogh lost his life after a pickup truck struck him while he crossed an Interstate 10 on-ramp in north Indio.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened shortly after noon on the westbound I-10 on-ramp near Monroe Street.

Reports say that Keogh was walking south across the ramp when a GMC Sierra turning from Monroe hit him. Keogh died at the scene from his injuries.

Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the crash and have not confirmed whether the driver will face charges.

This marks the second pedestrian death in the Coachella Valley within 24 hours, following a separate incident in Palm Springs Friday night.
