Deer Park, WA (May 26, 2025) — 53-year-old John Scovel from Ford suffered serious injuries Sunday afternoon after a hit-and-run collision involving a motorcycle just north of Deer Park.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash happened around 3:45 p.m. when Scovel was turning left from North Sherman Road onto West Bridges Road. At the same time, the driver of a silver 2003 Subaru Impreza reportedly tried to pass the motorcycle at a high speed.
The Subaru struck the left side of the motorcycle, causing the rider to crash in the middle of the intersection. Authorities said the driver of the Subaru fled the scene before officers arrived.
Emergency crews airlifted the injured rider to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane for treatment.
Officials continue to investigate the hit-and-run collision and are searching for the driver involved.
