Pedestrian John Smith Alrick Dead in Grand Avenue Accident

1 Killed in Traffic Crash Near 40th Avenue

Phoenix, AZ (March 22, 2026) – 29-year-old John Smith Alrick was killed in a pedestrian accident on Grand Avenue Friday night.

The deadly traffic crash happened past 10 p.m. near 40th Avenue.

Responding officers found John Smith Alrick suffering from critical injuries.

Immediately, the rescuers rushed the Alrick to a hospital, where he succumbed to injuries.

Meanwhile, the driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Troopers said the driver did not show signs of DUI.

According to the investigators, Alrick attempted to cross Grand Avenue mid-block, when he was hit by a vehicle.

Troopers are still investigating.
