Five Hospitalized, Driver Arrested After Frightening Traffic Collision on I-90 in Spokane

Spokane, WA (September 23, 2025) — Authorities believe a 26-year-old Johnathan Schur was under the influence when he caused a crash on I-90 that left five people, including a 1-year-old girl, hospitalized Sunday afternoon.

The Washington State Patrol reported that around 2 p.m., Schur was speeding westbound near Highway 395 when he rear-ended another vehicle.

Reports say that 4 people inside that car, including the infant, were taken to the hospital. Schur was also hospitalized after the collision.

Troopers placed Schur under arrest on suspicion of vehicular assault.
