GLENDALE, AZ (March 11, 2025) – Saturday night, Johnny Sanchez died in a brutal pedestrian crash near 57th Avenue and Camelback Road.

The incident happened at about 8:30 p.m. near 57th Avenue and Camelback Road.

Authorities say a driver traveling east on Camelback Road struck 56-year-old Sanchez as he was crossing. Despite first responders’ efforts, Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators do not believe speed or impairment played a role in the crash. However, it remains unclear whether Sanchez was using a crosswalk at the time.

Glendale officials stated that detectives are actively investigating the incident to determine the exact circumstances and contributing factors.
