Jonathan Solis Critically Injured in Fatal Collision on FM 1151 [Armstrong County, TX]

Armstrong County, TX (February 6, 2026) — A two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Armstrong County left 27-year-old Jonathan Solis injured and 23-year-old Robert McGuire Dead.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal crash happened on the Claude Highway near County Road 5 and Farm-to-Market Road 1151.

Investigators determined that McGuire of Claude was driving a Honda Accord westbound on FM 1151, while a GMC Sierra driven by Solis of Hereford was traveling east.

For reasons still under investigation, the Honda left the roadway, entered a ditch, then returned to the road and crossed into the eastbound lane. The vehicle collided nearly head-on with the pickup truck.

McGuire suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Solis was transported to a hospital in Amarillo with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
