Jonathan Torres Dies in Shocking Crash on FM 179 [Lynn County, TX]

Lynn County, TX (June 29, 2025) – 29-year-old Jonathan Torres of Lubbock died after a 2-vehicle crash on FM 179.

According to Texas DPS, on Friday afternoon, a two-vehicle collision in Lynn County claimed the life of Lubbock man and left another driver with minor injuries.

Authorities say that Torres drove a 2020 Chevrolet Express Van northbound on FM 179 and proceeded into the intersection with US 380. At the same time, a westbound Freightliner towing a trailer approached the intersection. Torres’ vehicle collided with the trailer.

Emergency crews pronounced Torres dead at the scene. The Freightliner driver sustained minor injuries. Authorities received the crash report just before 1 p.m.
