Jorge Estrada Martinez Killed in Suspected DUI Crash on Interstate 82 [Sunnyside, WA]

Sunnyside, WA (September 6, 2025) — A suspected DUI crash claimed the life of 29-year-old Jorge Estrada Martinez of Sunnyside on Tuesday evening.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident happened around 10:25 p.m. near Exit 69.

Investigators said a Honda Pilot was entering the eastbound on-ramp when it struck Martinez, who was on the shoulder of the roadway.

Troopers confirmed that Martinez died at the scene. Authorities believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. The driver, a 31-year-old Grandview man, remained at the scene, and charges are pending as the investigation continues.
