Driver Jose Manuel Zacarias Dead in Brushline Road Rear-End Crash [Edinburg, TX]

Rescuers Transported Woman in Deadly Crash North of FM 1925

Edinburg, TX (April 4, 2026) – Jose Manuel Zacarias, 34, of Edinburg, was fatally injured following a Brushline Road rear-end crash Thursday.

The deadly two-vehicle crash happened at 2:34 a.m., north of FM 1925.

DPS determined that a woman driving a southbound Chevrolet Tahoe on Brushline Road toward an irrigation canal when it was rear-ended by a Chevrolet 1500 pickup struck driven by Zacarias.

As a result, the Tahoe swerved onto the east side of the canal, and the Chevrolet rolled on the west side of the canal.

Rescuers responded to the crash scene and declared Jose Manuel Zacarias dead.

Moreover, the woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to an area hospital.

The officers are conducting a further investigation into this fatal crash.
