Jose Meza and X-avier Cruz Dead in CR 84 Collision

Woman Suffers Injury in Loveland Deadly Crash

Loveland, CO (February 6, 2026) – Jose Meza, 23, and X-avier Cruz, 19, both Loveland residents, were killed following a CR 84 collision early Tuesday morning.

It was past 4 a.m. when the authorities noticed a vehicle with no a license plate near East 57th Street and Garfield Avenue.

Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, but troopers said the driver turned the vehicle’s lights and fled.

Officers then started a chase while the driver sped up to 120 miles per hour toward I-25.

The vehicle then drove east on CR 84 where the driver lost control at the intersection with Pheasant Crest Drive.

The car the struck a power pole and rolled.

Meza and Cruz were thrown from the vehicle. One of them died at the scene, while the other was rushed to a local hospital and died.

Moreover, officers said a woman in the same vehicle was transported to a local hospital.

The authorities are investigating this collision.
