Jose Morales-Rosas Killed in Horrific DUI Crash on SR 150 [Chelan, WA]

Chelan, WA (April 03, 2024) On Sunday evening, 32-year-old Jose Morales-Rosas died while Mateo Villa-Morales and Carlos Soto-Mejias suffered injuries in a tragic DUI crash on SR 150.

According to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal crash happened around 8 p.m. on State Route 150 near Shop Avenue.

Reports say that 32-year-old Villa-Morales was recklessly driving along SR 150, officials say that Villa-Morales failed to make a turn, due to excessive speed, causing his car to cross the center median and collided with a pickup truck, driven by 51-year-old Soto-Mejias from Pasco.

Authorities say that Morales-Rosas was a passenger on Villa-Morales’s car, the passenger was declared dead at the scene, while Villa-Morales sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.

Meanwhile, Soto-Mejias and his 4 passengers were taken to Lake Chelan Community Hospital, and all occupants of the Toyota sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say that Villa-Morales faces charges of DUI, vehicular homicide, and vehicular assault.
