Jose Racomondes-Rios Dead in U.S. 259 Solo-Vehicle Crash [Nacogdoches County, TX]

Nacogdoches County, TX (August 11, 2026) – Jose Racomondes-Rios, a 59-year-old passenger from Houston, was killed in a U.S. 259 solo-vehicle crash Saturday morning.

It was around 6 a.m. when the deadly collision happened on Central Heights ISD campus.

Troopers said 2023 Hyundai Tucscon driven by Eliseo Marroquin Jr., 45, of Pasadena, was southbound on the freeway at an unsafe speed, when it left the roadway and struck a wooden fence. The vehicle then struck a metal pole belonging to the school.

Responding officers declared Racomondes-Rios and Marroquin dead at the crash scene.
