Jose Ramirez Arrested in Shocking Crash on Expressway 83 [Alamo, TX]

Alamo, TX (June 20, 2025) — Authorities in Alamo, Texas, arrested 40-year-old Jose Ramirez following a hit-and-run crash that injured two adults and four children on Expressway 83.

Police identified the suspect as Jose Fidencio Luna Ramirez. Officers took him into custody on Friday night, and he is scheduled to appear in court Saturday afternoon.

Investigators said the crash happened around 6:16 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Expressway 83 and involved a silver Dodge Durango. Emergency responders arrived to find that a 5-year-old child had been ejected from the vehicle and suffered severe head trauma.

A nurse who happened to pass the scene immediately provided aid to the child, who remains in critical condition.

Five other occupants—including the driver, one adult passenger, and three additional children—sustained serious injuries such as head and leg trauma and were transported to a hospital for treatment.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is assisting Alamo police as the investigation continues.
