Passenger Jose Reyna Dies in Tragic Crash on FM 2812 [Edinburg, TX]

Edinburg, TX (July 14, 2025) – 65-year-old Jose Reyna was killed in a tragic crash on FM 2812 Saturday afternoon.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the fatal crash happened near Brushline Road, at around 3:59 p.m.

Reports say that an eastbound 2006 Toyota Tundra lost control for unknown reasons. The vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with a concrete fence and a light pole.

Inside the Tundra were two occupants — a female driver and a male passenger, identified as Jose A. Reyna of Hargill. Reyna was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected during the crash.

Emergency responders rushed both individuals to Doctors Hospital at Renaissance, where Reyna later died from his injuries.

Authorities have not yet released the condition of the driver. Investigators are continuing to look into the cause of the crash.
