63-Year-Old Josefina Villarreal Dies in Tragic Crash on Roosevelt Avenue [San Antonio, TX]

San Antonio, TX (December 4, 2025) — 63-year-old Josefina Villarreal lost her life Wednesday morning after a driver struck her and unknowingly dragged her for roughly one block along Roosevelt Avenue.

According to San Antonio police, the collision occurred in the 10000 block of Roosevelt Avenue, just south of Loop 410.

Investigators said a man driving north on Roosevelt Avenue turned onto the roadway and hit Villarreal as she walked nearby. The vehicle continued forward for about a block before the driver stopped. He told police he did not see her before the impact. Villarreal died at the scene. Her official cause and manner of death remain under review.

Police do not expect to file charges at this time. Officers spoke with several witnesses as the investigation continued.
