Joseph Thornton Dead in Glenstone Street Bridge Collision [Springfield, MO]

Springfield, MO (March 3, 2026) – Joseph Thornton, 47, of Springfield, was killed in a Glenstone Street bridge collision on last month.

It was before 10 p.m. on February 16 when the deadly traffic crash happened on the Glenstone Street bridge over East Trafficway Street.

Troopers said Thornton, along with his passenger, his passenger, Shayla Evans, 37, of Springfield, was riding a southbound 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. 

Thornton’s motorcycle then collided with another motorcycle, which fled the scene.

Immediately, rescuers rushed Thornton and Evans to the hospital. Troopers said they were not wearing helmets during the collision.

Springfield PD stated Thornton succumbed other his injuries on February 28.
